Bridgeport '07

Posted on July 30, 2008 by: Halofan

  • Mark and me at Leavitt Lake (extinct volcano)
  • Me and Mark in his REI carrier. See my review.
  • Deanna and Shasta

Closest City: Bridgeport
State: California
Country: United States

I've been camping here my whole life.  My favorite camping spot.

From Forest Service:

  1. From Highway 395 south in Bridgeport, drive approximately 17 miles to Highway 108 at Sonora Junction.
  2. Turn left on Highway 108 and go approximately six miles. The campground is on left hand side of highway.

On your left you'll find Leavitt Meadows campground.  The West Walker River runs right next to the campsite for great trout fishing.  From the campground across the river are many trails to lakes only accessible by foot or horse.
