DIRECTIONS: From the freeway junctions of CA-99 and Highway 41 at Fresno, CA take the 41 north for approximately 50 miles to the south entrance of Yosemite National Park. Just past the entrance, make a right turn. The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is approximately 2 miles away. There is a large parking lot heare to the left and restrooms at the entrance area of the parking lot. The trail into the sequoia grove (Yosemite's largest of three) is on the far side of the parking lot.

ROAD CLOSURE: There is a swinging gate that may signal the road's closure for the 2 mile section leading up to the the sequoia grove in the winter. In that case, there is a parking lot directly across from the "T" intersection at the south entrance. You can park here and add two miles each way to your hike. Just think of the solitude on a winter shoeshoe adventure through this majestic grove of giant sequoias.
